Internships & PFE

INTERNSHIPS

On-the-job training is an integral part of the engineering training program in theESIET.

During their schooling, students are required to carry out internships, lasting four weeks, which take place, depending on the case, in January-February or July-August. Each of these internships gives rise to the presentation of a report.

THE END-OF-STUDY PROJECT

The End of Studies Project (Pfe) occurs at the end of the course. It lasts one semester and places the students in the real situation of novice engineers. Generally carried out within companies, it aims to make future senior technicians aware of industrial concerns. On the basis of a program defining effective work, the Pfe can take the form of participation in:

  • The technical and economic study of a project or its design and implementation.
  • The conduct, analysis or improvement of a production system.
  • The introduction and mastery of a technique within the company.

For the realization of his Pfe, the student is supervised by the host organization; the university sees to it, the smooth running of the Pfe by providing supervision of the student by a teacher of the specialty.

Le Pfe is the subject of a report and a defense before a jury composed of:

  • Two supervisors (the host industrialist and a teacher from theESIET)
  • A guest industrialist
  • Two teachers of theESIET including a rapporteur and a chairman.

Le Pfe is validated if it obtains a score greater than or equal to 10 out of 20.

If the grade is less than 10 out of 20, the student is authorized to repeat the semester.
